Hey, I’m Sarah Courtney!

A Denver-based photographer, creative director, and someone who’s spent the better part of a decade finding different ways to tell a good story.

My background is a bit of a mixed bag, in the best way. With a degree in journalism and PR, I’ve built a career spanning photography, modeling, brand marketing, social media, and creative production. I’ve worked behind the scenes with artists like ILLENIUM, helped scout and develop talent with Wolves Management, and collaborated with brands and creatives across entertainment, fashion, beauty, and beyond.

I’ve also spent plenty of time on the other side of the camera. Modeling taught me just as much about photography as being behind the lens ever could. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to be photographed, how much the right direction can change an image, and why feeling comfortable with the person holding the camera matters.

My style leans cinematic, with an emphasis on natural movement, honest emotion, and imagery that feels true to whoever or whatever is in front of me. I love the creative process, from developing a concept and finding the right location to knowing when to put the plan aside and let a moment unfold. Whether we’re working on a campaign or capturing something personal, I want the experience to feel collaborative, comfortable, and genuinely fun.

Outside of photography, I’m a Lagree instructor, a somewhat retired horse girl, a proud dog mom, and happiest when I can sneak away to the mountains. I’m endlessly curious, love meeting new people, and have never been particularly good at limiting myself to just one creative pursuit.

At the end of the day, I care about the people as much as the pictures. So whether you’ve got a fully developed concept or just an idea you can’t quite put into words, I’d love to hear it.
